Regardless the second hand smoke is harmless. There are many ways to consume it, smoking is just one. Nicotine is a CNS stimulant and causes the diaphragm and lungs to constrict, making it much harder to expel toxins and such from smoke. Marijuana dilates the lungs, which causes any inhaled carcinogens to be more easily expelled and thus causing no serious damage. This is why it is also good for asthma patients like myself, as asthma causes the lungs to constrict and marijuana dilates and relaxes them. |

There are so many medicinal/beneficial aspects and uses for it that you should at least be allowed to smoke it at home. Why the hell not? If it's your house you should be allowed to, if people there don't want you to then either don't or kick them out, you should not go to jail for something so minor. People can get out of jail in a couple of years for murdering a few people but can go to jail for longer just for smoking a plant? Think of yourself as a visitor from another world, is that not extremely f***ed up? I'm not all yay pot! Or anything, no desire to smoke it myself but my mother and stepfather smoke it occasionally to unwind, I'd hate to see them get jail time just for that. I mean say they did, that would be my life practically wrecked because as someone with social anxiety I'm really dependent on my mum. Imagine a single mum with like 3 kids going to jail over it because once a week she needs to relax, that's just barbaric. Jails are full enough as it is in most places, as long as they weren't complete drug lords, people in for pot based offenses should be let out and put on community service in place of the murderers and whatnot that should actually be in there. |

I think you're way off the mark with your view of the penalties for using marijuana. You'd have to be a repeat offender to go to jail for it, and even then it'd be a really short sentence. The penalties are a lot harsher for dealing, not using. |

Well yeah, but if you have enough of it you will likely be marked as a dealer, there's no proof that you're not so you'll get a sentence you really don't deserve. |

It can help people relax and unwind. Regardless because you don't think it has a positive effect doesn't mean it should be illegal. Ice cream and hamburgers don't have a positive effect on people I don't see you wanting them to be illegal. Putting people in prison for possessing or ingesting a plant is absurd. Over the counter prescriptions are far worse and lethal. |
